Let's talk about the time that Chris may have downloaded a virus when he was trying to get the new Radiohead album.
Firstly, it made a new user account on his computer.
Secondly, he's locked out of his original account. Now, this could be because it changed the password OR because he never logs out of it so he doesn't have a reason to remember it. Either way, he can't get in.
I decided to go the Kevin Rose way of cracking the password. I booted up Ubuntu & got the SAM & system file from the windows\system32\config directory.
After some remembering how to mount an iPod in an older version of ubuntu.
I take the files to my laptop where the SAM file is now being cracked with @stake LC4. It says 4 hours left. Fun.
But there's also the issue that computer has now. You can go into the new "admin" account, which isn't an admin account at all. But after you sit there for a while the mouse cursor starts moving by itself which is an odd thing to see. I've never seen a virus do this before. It's like it's being controlled through VNC. Which is odd because there is a VNC server running on the computer & now I can't close it. Lame. Oh well. It's running the Trend Micro House Call virus scan right now. Hopefully it finds something & it won't need formatting. That would suck ballllllllsssss.
I'm gonna go kill 4 hours.
